Segment-first eight-speed automatic transmission
The new segment-exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission expands the world-class power and fuel-efficiency of the 2012 Chrysler 300C and offers class-leading fuel efficiency.

The addition of three more gear ratios in the proven ZF eight-speed automatic transmission design helps reduce the gaps normally associated with upshifting and downshifting. Combined with the award-winning 292 horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, passengers will experience world-class levels of refinement due to small, evenly spaced ratios that provide quicker acceleration and smoother shifts.

Quicker shifts are possible on the new Chrysler 300C as a result of a “Sport” shift mode that requires simple driver input. When the driver shifts in to “Sport” mode, gear changes are quicker and revs are held higher for even more performance-oriented acceleration and higher shift dynamics. For even more control, the driver can also use a pair of die-cast steering-wheel mounted paddle controls and view gear selection through an all-new full-color Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) centered in the instrument cluster.

Chrysler 300C’s AWD system features a segment-exclusive active transfer case and front-axle-disconnect system to improve real-world fuel economy. No other major automotive manufacturer offers the combination of these two independent technologies. Chrysler 300C’s innovative AWD system seamlessly transitions between rear-wheel drive and AWD with no driver intervention. The new Chrysler 300C was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), achieving their highest rating.

In 2011 Mercedes-Benz Cars sold more vehicles in a single year compared to the previous years. A total of 1,362,908 vehicles of the Daimler brands including Mercedes-Benz have been delivered to customers – around 77,000 units more than in the previous record set in 2007 (1,285,900 units).

Sales in 2011 was the best year in the history of the brand Mercedes-Benz cars. With 1,260,912 units sold and an increase of 8.0% compared to the prior year the previous sales record of 2007 (1,185,200 units) was clearly exceeded. Since the beginning of the year, sales of the brand have been up every month. Particularly successful, was the sales development in the fourth quarter, and the delivery of 341,624 made it the best-selling quarter in the company’s history. In December alone, worldwide deliveries totalled 124,387 vehicles or by a 15.1% increase in December 2010, thus, recording more vehicles sold than ever before in this period.

Growth for 2011 came from last year’s introduction of the new generation C-Class, the C-Class Coupe, the SLK, the CLS, M-Class and the GLK-Class.

In China (including Hong Kong), sales increased by at least 20% with a total of 193,339 customers; of which 23,227 (+29.5%) units of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars were sold in December alone. Mercedes-Benz also did well in other countries: Russia with 29,058 units (+47.3%), India with 7,089 units (+22.7%) and in Brazil boosting sales by 35.3% with 10,197 units – totalling 32.4% in all. An increase in sales has also been reported in Taiwan (+31.7%), South Korea (+18.8%), Mexico (+17.7%), Denmark (+15.0%), Sweden (+12.2%), and Japan (+7.1%) with 32,405 units sold despite last year’s earthquake.

In the Philippines

The Philippines contributed a 10% sales growth to the world-wide total sales. The most popular and the most successful model in its segment during 2011 was the New Generation C-Class with a recorded growth of 229 units sold. On the other hand, The E-Class model recorded 2011 sales of 146 units sold while the Mercedes-Benz GLK, SLS, and CLS also did well in their own segments in the Philippines.

Chrysler 300C and Town & Country, Jeep® Grand Cherokee and Jeep® Wrangler , also Dodge Durango Citadel 3.6L and Dodge Nitro SXT are among Chrysler Group’s brands that made an outstanding performance. Increase in sales for 2012 is expected, with an additional dealer opening this year at Alabang, higher target and higher volumes, and more strong performing vehicles to be launched.

Dodge Nitro, Dodge’s first mid-size SUV, extended its production on December 2011 to meet a burst in customer demand. Through the first seven months of 2011, Nitro sales are up 24 percent compared with the same period in 2010.

Dodge Nitro was improved with interactive Decel Fuel Shut Off (iDFSO). iDFSO turns off fuel during vehicle deceleration, which improves fuel economy without any noticeable changes in engine performance. In addition, the new Fuel-saver indicator displays when the vehicle is driven in a fuel-efficient manner, providing drivers with continuous fuel-consumption feedback. But still upholds a coil-spring independent front suspension and a five-link, coil-spring rear suspension. The independent front suspension gives the driver an optimum combination of ride, handling and steering, which provides a greater sense of control and precision. The solid five-link rear suspension, including upper and lower trailing links and track bar, provides higher lateral stiffness for vehicle responsiveness and outstanding handling. A standard of 3.7-liter V-6 engine model produce 210 hp (157 kW) @ 5,200 rpm and 235 lb.-ft. (319 Nm) of torque @ 4,000 rpm. An exhaust-gas recirculation valve helps increase fuel economy.

The Dodge Nitro SXT, which is available locally, has an option for performance suspension, it emphasizes responsive, fun-to-drive handling accompanied by a firm drive. Dodge Nitro features a part-time, four-wheel-drive system. This means Two-wheel- and four-wheel-drive lock modes are electronically controlled by a switch in the center console, which may be selected at any time with the part-time four-wheel drive system. From a safety standpoint, four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes (ABS), Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Brake Assist, Electronic-roll Mitigation (ERM) and All-speed traction control are standard.
